We built a polarization entangled photon source and a time-energy entangled photon source in our optics lab at Augustana. Both of these sources create a photon pairs through a process called Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion (SPDC). We fire a pumped laser through a non-linear BBO crystal, through the occasional annihilation we create two quantum correlated photon pairs (signal and idler).
